The configurable safety systems PNOZmulti have been on the market since 2002 and are now in use hundreds of thousands of times over. They enable you to implement several safety functions on a plant or machine.
Thanks to the modular structure, PNOZmulti can be adapted to the size of your plant or machinery. By using a variety of modules – such as speed or standstill monitor, safe analogue input modules or various base units – you can make your application extremely flexible. The safety systems are multifunctional, freely configurable and tailor-made for many areas of mechanical and plant engineering.

Configurable safety systems PNOZmulti – Base units
The configurable safety systems PNOZmulti are mainly used to implement more than four safety functions. All base units have 20 inputs, 4 safe semiconductor outputs and 2 relay outputs. Various base units are available:
stand-alone
for monitoring safety functions and automation functions
for an extended temperature range
specifically for press applications
for monitoring furnaces
The safety systems are therefore flexible to use for a wide range of applications. All base units for the configurable safety systems PNOZmulti meet up to PL e (EN ISO 13849-1) and SIL CL 3 (IEC 62061), depending on application.
Safety systems PNOZmulti – Expansion modules
Your application is the deciding factor: modular expansion of base units
If your plant expands, the PNOZmulti simply expands with it. Expansion modules are available to extend the modular system; these can be used in any combination to suit the requirement. The configurable safety systems always comprise a base unit and optional expansion modules.
A base unit has inputs, relay outputs, safe semiconductor outputs, outputs for automation applications, cascade input and cascade output. The number of inputs and outputs can be increased at any time by the expansion modules. Special expansion modules enable e.g. safe speed monitoring.
Safety system PNOZmulti – Communication and fieldbus modules
For connection to the fieldbus systems PROFINET & Co.
You can connect the configurable safety systems PNOZmulti to all common fieldbus and Ethernet systems: e.g. PROFINET, PROFIBUS-DP, ModbusTCP, EtherCAT, EtherNet IP, POWERLINK, CANopen, CC-Link, DeviceNet, Interbus, Sercos III. Configuration is performed simply in the software tool PNOZmulti Configurator.
Use a fieldbus module to set virtual inputs and outputs for automation functions. You can now read out diagnostic data. If you need to connect PNOZmulti to a different fieldbus system, this can be done without changing the configuration. What this means for you is that you can use PNOZmulti independently of industry, country or machine type!
Software, small controllers PNOZmulti
PNOZmulti small controllers make design, configuration, documentation and commissioning simple. Easy diagnostic solutions reduce standstill times on your plant or machine. Our user-friendly software tools are available to do this: Use the software tool PNOZmulti Configurator to create safety-related user programs / safety programs. In conjunction with the hardware of the safe small controllers PNOZmulti it is possible to monitor safety functions in the field of machine protection. It’s both convenient and simple. For diagnostics you can use the OPC UA-based tools from the diagnostic solution PVIS.
Your automation projects can be managed using the web-based visualisation software PASvisu for simple configuration and optimum visualisation. That way you can achieve a convenient, comprehensive overview of your plant or machine locally and via remote access!
