Fire Detection System, Intruder Alarm and Disabled Refuge System at Bloomfield Presbyterian Church in Belfast Northern Ireland
The Building
Bloomfield Presbyterian Church has stood on the Beersbridge Road since 1887. Refurbishment of existing halls, building a totally new extension, and ensuring the church could continue to function were key aspects of the project
The development was created around the façade of an old Methodist church designed by Dublin architect, Isaac Farrell and consists of a reinforced concrete frame with flat slab floor construction including a double storey basement.
Our solutions
Working to the electrical contractor WWK Electrical, Ashdale Engineering Ltd were the appointed specialist sub-contractor awarded the contract to supply 2nd fix and commission new "open protocol" fire detection system, Intruder alarm and Disabled refuge system at Bloomfield Presbyterian Church in Belfast.
The fire detection system consisted of Advanced addressable detection panels networked, Apollo XP95 and Soteria devices with a Wagner Pro Sense ASD system for roof void smoke detection.
The Intruder Alarm was a Pryonix Enforcer V10 32 zone intruder alarm system.
The disabled refuge system was a C-tec Sigtel 4 system.
Phased commissioning and transition of older systems to the new systems took place with careful planning between April 2020 and Sept 2020 ensuring the buildings always retained protection.
Ashdale’s experience providing detection systems on other historical buildings in NI including the Ulster Hall and the Guildhall was invaluable for this scheme.
